Get To Know Kelsey in 5 Questions:

Q: GO TO MOTIVATIONAL SAYING?

A: You’ve done this before, you can do it again! I know it's tough but so are you.

Q: CAUSES YOU CARE ABOUT?

A: Disability Justice.

Q: FAVORITE AT-HOME EQUIPMENT/PROP:

A: Pilates/Barre Ball

Q: EARLY BIRD/NIGHT OWL?

A: Early bird, solely because of Brad Wagner’s influence in my life 5 years ago.

Q: WHY DO YOU TEACH?:

A: To make movement fun and accessible for all people. Growing up I hated exercise (outside of dancing) but when I found instructors that modified workouts for my body and made it fun, it became my favorite pastime, and I also had more energy and mental strength in other areas of life.

Kelsey is a disabled fitness professional who believes that wellness should be a right, not a luxury, and should be a tool for good in the world. She fell in love with exercise and nutrition while working in Cape Town with children with disabilities and noticed a huge difference in her energy and how she could show up for projects she was working on as she adopted more healthy behaviors. The only subject Kelsey nearly failed multiple times growing up was gym class because she was timid, self conscious and uncomfortable in her own body because of her disability, so she would skip class or forge notes to get out of class. The only time Kelsey felt comfortable exercising was at her dance studio, because her teachers would help her get creative with movements and make it fun. She strives to bring those same elements of accessibility into other areas of fitness for all people so they can figure out what their version of fitness looks like.

Since 2015 Kelsey has hosted fitness fundraisers around the country raising money for causes that support disability justice with brands like Nike, Lululemon, Outdoor Voices and has raised over $30,000 through the power of community and sweat with these projects. She is Well + Good’s first ever disabled trainer of the month and can’t wait to see you in class!
